We continue our series on ways to maximize use of properties and their potential for the benefit of both the church and the community. Understanding how to make the most of these spaces can impact our communities and contribute to supporting and sustaining our churches and our ministries.

5:40 – Rev. Kerry Sumpter Smith, Senior Pastor, White Rock UMC in Dallas
Rev. Sumpter Smith will share how they’ve created revenue with their building.
Their experiences include renting space to multiple non-profits and community residents.
They will also discuss involvement where a nearby church had closed and was turned into a community center and community garden. https://wrumc.org/

6:00 Matt Austin and Matt Patrick – Co-Pastors of University UMC in Tulsa, OK
Rev. Austin and Rev. Patrick will share from their experiences with leasing out their building to non-profits and residents. They created a for-profit enterprise selling coffee that creates revenue above expenses for the church. https://www.uumctulsa.org/
