Beginning Again is a pre-retirement seminar designed in multiple sessions (in one day) to help you prepare financially and spiritually for the ‘third part’ of your life. “The more prepared we are to retire, helps us enjoy it all the more.”

Sessions on Thursday, November 9th, will include presentations by representatives from Wespath, EY Financial Planning Services, and The Center for Connectional Resources Benefits Department. Sessions will include information about pensions, taxes, ending well, insurance, crucial conversations, and more. Our goal is to inform you in all aspects of Retirement and help you plan your future with confidence. This informative seminar is geared for clergy 55 years and older.

Pre-Retirement Seminar– Thursday, November 9, 2023 at Houston, St. Paul’s UMC (Fondren Hall)

  • 8:30 – 9:00 am – Check-in 

  • 9:00 – 10:00 am – Welcome, Devotional, and Retiree Guest, Rev. B. T. Williamson

  • 10:00 -10:15 am – Break

  • 10:15 – Noon – Wespath: Plans, Housing, and Taxes

  • Noon – 1:00 pm – Lunch

  • 1:00 – 2:30 pm – EY: Social Security, Goal Setting, Financial Wellness

  • 2:30 -2:45 pm – Break

  • 2:45 – 3:30 pm – Center for Connectional Resources: Retiree Health

  • 3:30 – 4:00 pm – Q & A

Arriving at St. Paul's UMC (Fondren Hall)

The St. Paul's campus is located on four contiguous blocks in the Houston Museum District. The modified English Gothic sanctuary anchors the campus at 5501 Main Street and Binz/Bissonnet, across from the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston.

Parking is free in two lots across Fannin Street from the sanctuary. The addresses for the parking lots are 1131 Binz Street and 5500 San Jacinto Street. The church is within a block of both Museum District MetroRail stops.
