On March 24, 2023, just after 8 PM, Rolling Fork, Mississippi, was struck by a large EF4 tornado. A tornado emergency was issued for the town by the NWS as the storm dealt catastrophic damage, with most of the buildings in the small business district damaged or destroyed. Approximately 255 homes were damaged and 13 people lost their lives.
