The Pastor’s Moving…Now What?

One thing that never fluctuates in the United Methodist Churches is a change – especially change of pastors. It is a part of the rhythm of life for the UMC.

An important goal for every church is that they transition well from one church to another. And we want to make sure our church members and pastors have tools to say goodbye and hello in ways that are meaningful and helpful!

Especially during a tricky pandemic year like 2021.

Do not miss one of these sessions where we will cover the following:

  • Saying goodbye and hello well, ideas to bless your pastor
  • 90-day action plan, what a pastor needs to do in the first 90 days of a new appointment
  • Logistics of a move (move policy and benefits for pastors)

Those who should attend are all pastors going to new appointments; Staff Parish Relations members and other appropriate leaders from churches with outgoing and/or incoming pastors as well as staff or volunteers who manage the finances of the church.

All three of these events are identical. Pastors and leaders are encouraged to attend the first event after the appointment is announced. The sooner you attend, the more this information can help you.
