As the seasons begin to change and we even begin to feel a chill in the air, yes, even in Texas, we pause especially this week to give thanks as we reflect on the many blessings in our lives.
The traditions of the season for some of us include family gatherings and bountiful feasts, yet we must recognize that it can also be a challenging time for many as coming together to share a moment of grace and gratitude with those in our lives can take work.
Yet we know that even and especially in these moments, God is ever present. Thanksgiving offers us an opportunity to share intentional gratitude for the t
hings and the persons in our lives that we often take for granted. So I ask that you take a moment this Thanksgiving to consider what intentional gratitude really means to you. Try to find time to pray and give thanks for those around you and for the ways God has been a blessing in your life. I will be praying for all the clergy and laity across this annual conference.
I truly give thanks for you and I offer my deepest gratitude and thanksgiving for all of you an all that you do. Happy Thanksgiving. Bishop Cynthia Fierro Harvey
