Sexual Ethics Training for all Pastors
Who needs to attend?
All those who are serving under episcopal appointment within the Texas Annual Conference must attend one of the upcoming Sexual Ethics Trainings in early 2020 to remain in good standing. This includes all clergy serving in extension ministries, retired clergy serving under appointment, all deacons, elders, licensed local pastors (part time and full time), interim ministers, diaconal ministers, CLMs and lay supply who are assigned to lead a church. Those on leave or unappointed also need to attend to stay in good standing with the conference. This training is required even if you have recently attended an abbreviated version at Residency Retreats or Licensing Schools since the last quadrennial training in 2015-2016.
What to Expect
The first two trainings will have outside speakers facilitating the sessions. The remaining three trainings will be facilitated by our own TAC clergy.
Presentations will cover the following and more:
- Promoting healthy boundaries in ministerial leadership
- Raising awareness
- Preventing sexual misconduct in our churches
- Proper Social Media responsibilities
Printed certificates showing CEU credits will be provided upon request. The date of attendance will be recorded on your permanent record.
