In August 2020, the Texas Annual Conference approved “Principles Regarding Local Church Requests for Disaffiliation,” a one-page document which outlines the process a local church needs to take in order to disaffiliate from the Texas Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church.  To help you and your church understand the TAC disaffiliation process, please review the resources below.  After you have reviewed these resources, if your church is considering disaffiliation, please talk with your Pastor.  To begin the process, your Pastor and Church Lay Leadership (Lay Leader, Church Council Chair, and/or Lay Delegate to Annual Conference) will need to visit with your District Superintendent to discuss "why" to disaffiliate.
