Rev. Romonica Malone-Wardley Named Southeast District Superintendent

Bishop Scott J. Jones announced today that the Rev. Romonica Malone-Wardley has been appointed as District Superintendent for the Southeast District of the Texas Annual Conference beginning July 1, 2020.

Rev. Malone-Wardley has served as secretary for the conference Board of Ordained Ministry and  the Strategic Mapping Team as well as the district DCOM. She is currently a General Conference Delegate for the Texas Annual Conference and is on the Nominations Committee of the Black Methodists for Church Renewal for the South Central Jurisdiction as well as the SCJ Missions Council. She earned her Bachelor of Social Work from Texas State University (then Southwest Texas State) and her Masters of Divinity from Gammon Theological Seminary.

“Romonica brings substantial experience as a leader serving in many areas of ministry. We are pleased she is joining us on the cabinet and look forward to working with her,” said Bishop Scott J. Jones.

The Southeast District office of the Texas Conference is located in downtown Beaumont on the campus of First UMC. The district is made up of vibrant, growing congregations which are changing lives and reshaping futures for Jesus Christ. Our mission is to equip those congregations to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world to the glory of God.
