Rev. Charles Anderson named Northwest District Superintendent

This week, Bishop Scott J. Jones announced that the Rev. Charles Anderson has been appointed as District Superintendent for the Northwest District of the Texas Annual Conference beginning July 1, 2021. Rev. Anderson currently serves as Senior Pastor at Clear Lake United Methodist Church outside of Houston.

Rev. Anderson will be serving with fellow cabinet members, Revs. Morris Matthis and Tony Vinson, who are also former pastors of Clear Lake United Methodist Church.

Rev. Anderson has served as pastor to many outstanding United Methodist Churches across Texas including: University, San Antonio; Friendswood, A&M, College Station, Texas; Westminster, Houston; Holy Covenant, Katy, Texas; First and Lynn-Grove, Hempstead, Texas; and Westbury, Houston.
Anderson has been recognized for many outstanding accomplishments at each of the churches he has served. His most recent achievement is being named one of 13 people named for the “Heroes for Children” award by the Texas State Board of Education. Anderson was the only recipient who is not an educator by profession.

“Charles is an established leader in the Texas Annual Conference -- we are excited to have him as a new member of the cabinet,” said Bishop Scott J. Jones.

The Northwest District office is located in Tyler, Texas. The district is made up of vibrant, growing congregations which are changing lives and reshaping futures for Jesus Christ. Our mission is to equip those congregations to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world to the glory of God.
