Local pastors pray for Cuba

Date Posted: 7/22/2021

Give ear, our God, and hear; open your eyes and see the desolation of
the city that bears your Name. We do not make requests of you because
we are righteous, but because of your great mercy. Lord, listen! Lord,
forgive! Lord, hear and act! For your sake, my God, do not delay,
because your city and your people bear your Name.”
Daniel 9:18-19
Positional Statement from The Cuban Pastors of The Texas Annual Conference on Recent Events in Cuba:

Even as we are physically outside of Cuba, we share the suffering and pain of our Cuban people as they have been beaten and wounded. We mourn with those families that have lost loved ones and with those who don’t know where the Cuban police have taken their missing loved ones.
We reject any form of violent response against people who are unarmed and have taken to the streets in peaceful demonstrations to reclaim their rights. We advocate for and declare ourselves in support of, freedom for the Cuban people. We are in favor of reconciliation between all Cubans around the world. We believe that we have to set aside any and all of our differences to remain united in this historic moment.
The Bible reminds us in Matthew 12:25 that ““Every kingdom divided against itself will be ruined, and every city or household divided against itself will not stand.” We must walk in unity. We are praying for you. We know that God is the only one who can grant that much-desired freedom
that we all want. “The LORD gives strength to his people; The LORD blesses his people with peace.” (Psalm 29:11).
We pray in the words of Nehemia:
“Remember me (Cuba) with favor, my God”

Inclina, oh Dios mío, tu oído, y oye; abre tus ojos, y mira nuestras desolaciones,
