Lakeview Methodist Conference Center Announces Two New Staff Members
Lakeview Methodist Conference Center is proud to announce the addition of two new staff members effective for January 2016.
Bradley Doherty, who brings years of camp programming experience, has been named Camp and Ministry Director, a brand new position created at Lakeview. After months of studies led by Kaleidoscope, Inc., and conversations with the Texas Annual Conference, the Conference Camping Committee, camping leaders from each district, the Cabinet, and the Lakeview Board of Directors, the decision for a new camp model called for a Camp and Ministry Director. The camp model led and managed by Lakeview, will go into effect in 2017.
Bradley comes from YMCA Camp Classen in Davis, Oklahoma. As the Director of Camping, he was in charge of all camp programs, including conference and summer camps. Under his leadership, Bradley made a huge impact to Camp Classen by increasing enrollment, designing and developing new programs, and completing many facility upgrades.
A homegrown Texan and United Methodist, Bradley has a specific calling to camp ministry and making Disciples for Jesus Christ. Bradley is certified in virtually every area of camp ministry and is known for his passion, competence, and servant minded leadership. After an extensive national search, Bradley was identified by Kaleidoscope, Inc. as the best applicant for this new position. Bradley received a bachelor's degree and master's degree in Architecture from Texas Tech University. His wife, Heather, is a graduate of Texas A&M University and also holds a master's degree in counseling.
Breezy Lake-Wolfe, a native East Texan, joins the team as the Director of Marketing & Hospitality. She has an extensive background in the tourism industry with Hyatt Hotels and Resorts, Club Med Resorts in the Bahamas, Colorado and Florida, The Mansion on Turtle Creek, and Lake Austin Spa Resort. Breezy has interacted with celebrities and heads of state, played crucial roles in event planning, and has led teams to maintain excellent customer service.
Breezy created and directed the hospitality administration program at Lon Morris College and most recently was the Marketing Manager for the City of Palestine. Her passion for tourism and East Texas has led Palestine to become one of the top travel destinations in Texas. Breezy has spoken across the state on topics such as leadership and customer service, social media marketing, and heritage and culinary tourism. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in hospitality administration and a Master of Science degree in human sciences from Stephen F. Austin State University. Breezy currently serves as the past president for the Texas Forest Trail Region, a tourism initiative created by the Texas Historical Commission. Her husband, David, is a graduate of Texas A&M University and is a local restaurateur.
"Lakeview is stepping forward with bold confidence with these new staff members," says Matt Idom, President of Lakeview Methodist Conference Center. "These are extremely talented and successful leaders in their fields that have already envisioned the potential at Lakeview. I believe in a short few years Lakeview will grow to be the strongest regional United Methodist ministry center of its type, serving congregations and groups from Houston, Dallas, Beaumont, East Texas and Shreveport. Our first emphasis in the start up will certainly be towards the summer camp ministry for the children and youth of the Texas Annual Conference as we lead into the transition in 2017. We will also be developing year round programming for every age level. In both Bradley and Breezy's case, these two individuals are not only talented and proven leaders; they both express a sense of calling in their personal faith to be part of the Lakeview Dream."
