Lakeview Accepts Resignation of the Rev. Matt Idom
LAKEVIEW METHODIST CONFERENCE CENTER -- The Board of Directors of Lakeview Methodist Conference Center met late last week and accepted the resignation of the Rev. Matt Idom, President and CEO, effective June 30, 2019. Idom, an ordained elder in the Texas Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church, has served as President/CEO of Lakeview for the past eight years. Lakeview is a 1,300-acre retreat conference center located outside Palestine, TX.
“I am humbled by the privilege of serving Lakeview these last eight years,” said Idom. “I thank God for the people I have met and the lives that I have seen transformed through this ministry. Thank you for your support, confidence, and shared love for this adventure of faith.”
Idom listed as the primary reason for his decision as a personal desire to move from the rural Lakeview campus to a place with more cultural, educational, and work opportunities for his wife Li, a native of China. In the meantime, Idom will continue to serve as president and CEO and the Board of Trustees.
Lakeview Methodist Conference Center, outside Palestine, Texas offers retreats, conferences, outdoor education and team building programs, and accommodates more than 25,000 visitors and campers each year.
