Huffman Church Launches Bold Campaign
Preliminary architectural rendering of exterior design being considered for new Lake Houston UMC sanctuary featuring double the space and seating of original sanctuary, plus gathering space for before and after worship, and additional restrooms and connection to the existing campus.
Lake Houston United Methodist Church has announced a bold plan designed to carry the church into the next decade. The campaign, which is called “Rising From The Water” will be raising funds to build a new sanctuary.
This project, approved several weeks back by the church’s official board, is in response to the need to replace the original building, built in 1961, that was flooded during Hurricane Harvey. The new sanctuary will be double the size due to growth the church has been experiencing in
recent years so that all worship services can be held in one building.
The campaign is led by Don Smith of the Horizons Stewardship Co. of Cabot, Arkansas. It is expected that the campaign will last four months culminating in the membership committing itself to gifts over a three-year period.
The Chairpersons of the campaign are Ken and Daralyn Schubert. The Campaign Coordinator is Jeanne McGregor. The Pastor of the church is Reverend Frank Coats.
The church does not see this campaign as an end, but a means by which exciting new ministries can be offered by the congregation to the community. The church is located at 23606 FM 2100 in Huffman, TX.
