Dr. Elijah Stansell Named Central South District Superintendent

Bishop Scott J. Jones announced today that the Rev. Dr. Elijah Stansell has been appointed as District Superintendent for the Central South District of the Texas Annual Conference beginning July 1, 2020.
Dr. Stansell has faithfully served in many leadership roles for the United Methodist Church during his career including as a pastor to many churches, District Superintendent, Conference Treasurer and Director of the Center for Connectional Resources, chairperson of the Commission on Religion & Race, Board of Ordained Ministry and the Investigation Committee. He has also served the general church for the General Council on Finance and Administration Audit & Review, Board of Pensions, Denominational Health Task Force for General Conference 2008 and was elected chair of the General Administration Committee for General Conference 2012. He earned his Masters of Divinity from Perkins School of Theology and his Doctor of Divinity from McCormick Theological Seminary.
