Lenten Lunches
Five churches in the Southwest District share a long history of Christian fellowship. Each Lenten season, they join together weekly to prepare their hearts for the season and celebrate their connection. First UMC Fulshear, First UMC Brookshire, Pattison UMC, First UMC Sealy, and Felipe UMC each take turns hosting the brown bag lunch on Wednesdays from 12:00 p.m.-1:00 p.m. “We come together as Methodists often do, over food, but the real emphasis is on our worship together,” said the Rev. Cary Wilkins, First UMC Fulshear. “The host church leads us in worship which includes singing, prayer, and a message.  And then we sit, chat, and share what’s going on in our church and individual lives over our brown bag lunches.”
