Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Brunch Celebration
Monday, January 18, 2016 from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 pm. at The Power Center - 12401 Post Oak Road Houston, TX 77045
This event is sponsored by Black Methodists for Church Renewal, Inc., an Advocacy Caucus of the United Methodist Church. The brunch is open to all. The speaker for this event is Ms. Yvette Richards, National President of the United Methodist Women. Ticket price is $30.
In honor of Dr. King, “The brunch proceeds are used for scholarships to youth, clergy and lay persons at-tending church related leadership events, funding of youth mission projects, youth fun activities, as well as groups that reach out to marginalized and disenfranchised individuals.
Again this year, churches, organizations and individual are invited to join in our mission project by donating new socks, slightly used, clean coats, jackets and blankets at the brunch for distribution to the homeless.
To participate in the brunch, please complete the enclosed reservation form and return along with your do-nation to BMCR Treasurer Rochelle Cebrun, 5215 Main St. Houston, TX 77002. You may also pay online at http://www.txcumc.org/mlkbrunch no later than January 11, 2016. Tickets will not be sold at the door. Your presence, our speaker, and other program participants will make this year’s brunch complete and rep-resentative of Dr. King’s dream. For more information contact Rev.
