Renovation – Becoming Like Jesus

Date Posted: 2/5/2013

“Follow me…” This was Jesus’ simple but challenging and life-changing invitation throughout His ministry. The disciples heard it directly from Him, and we read about it in the Gospel narratives today; but do we really experience what it means to follow Jesus – to live as He did on earth? Do we understand that He is calling us to become like Him and to live our lives for the Kingdom of God here and now?

Jesus gave us a true and vivid picture of God and modeled for us how we can experience a vital and deeply meaningful life with God in our daily existence. The Renovation Conference in Tyler, Texas, is an opportunity for individuals from every walk of life to learn how God can and does bring about authentic transformation and life-change for those who seek to become like Jesus.

Don’t miss this one-day spiritual life event Saturday, March 2, 2013 beginning at 9:00 a.m. at Marvin United Methodist Church in Tyler. Speakers include Richard Foster, James Bryan Smith, Nathan Foster and worship leader Kyle Matthews. The event is hosted by Christ Episcopal, Marvin United Methodist and First Baptist Churches with partner churches and ministries throughout the Tyler community.

The conference is a collaborative endeavor with Renovare’, a non-profit ministry founded by noted Christian author and speaker Richard Foster which seeks to resource and promote intentional living and spiritual formation for Christians and anyone wanting a deeper connection with God.
