ERT Training November 5

An Early Responder Team training  session will be held on Saturday, November 5, from 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM at First UMC, Huntsville.

Early Responder Teams are trained and equipped to enter a disaster site soon after one strikes. They are self-sustaining. They have their own transportation, fuel, food, equipment, and lodging already covered. They bring, in the name of Christ, immediate assistance to ensure no further damage is done.

The Texas Annual Conference, in partnership with UMCOR, is now conducting Early Responder Training using approved UMCOR curriculum. Early responders representing our conference must have this training to be certified.

If you want to be certified and receive an ID badge from UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief) Safe Sanctuary, including proof that one’s background check has been successfully run this year, is REQUIRED prior to attending the class. A background check is not required for persons attending the class who do not desire to be credentialed.

The cost is $25.00 per person and includes lunch.
