New Clergy Orientation - "Cultivating Hearts, Minds and Souls"

Date Posted: 9/3/2013

The yearly West District New Pastor Orientation was recently held at the West District Office with fourteen new pastors to the district participating in a day of “Cultivating Hearts, Minds and Souls” as they learned and participated in the vision of the district which was presented by Joe Fort, District Superintendent, as well as Leadership Development presented by Starlet Bell, Leadership Facilitator and Coach. Participants, also actively became a part of the administrative process and procedures for the West District local churches by participating in an in-depth informative presentation by Debbie Keim, Administrative Assistant.

The theme--“The Cultivation of Our Churches” was used as a comparison with “The Cultivation of Plants”.  This theme was the center of collaboration and gathering, as pastors discussed how they could process and cultivate their churches with the rich tools and resources given them throughout the day. The day was filled with fun, teamsmanship and rich story telling. Each participant took away necessary communication needed towards “new beginnings” with a new church year as well as the feeling of “value” and leadership training that will enhance their churches.
