Learn How to Fight Human Trafficking

Date Posted: 8/9/2012

The local mission field is crying for our help. Houston has one of the most active human traffic rings in the nation-- inspiring the Texas Conference to pass a resolution in June to take a stand immediately. Learn about the issue and ideal actions at this August 25 event at FUMC in Caldwell, Tx.

“In response to this horrific abuse and the resolution passed at annual conference,” says Center leader Rev. Diane McGehee, “the TAC Center for Missional Excellence is encouraging all churches to help in addressing the issue of human trafficking by donating money or attending a TAC-endorsed educational event hosted by Pastor Todd Jordan at First United Methodist Church in Caldwell, Tx on Saturday, August 25 from 10-noon.

Lunch and the event are free for those that register by August 18 and bring a $5 gift card for McDonald’s, Sonic, Starbucks or Chick-fil-A which Redeemed Ministries will use to help women trapped in this lifestyle. McGehee adds, “I am personally challenging attendees to collect at least 200 gift cards at the event.”
