An Outpouring of Thanksgiving
The Apostle Paul enriched our understanding of the connection between generosity and thanksgiving to God. Through your gifts, ministry, mission and the liberality of lives happen. You are an exemplary portrait of good stewards who year after year faithfully focus on the welfare of the people we serve.
Creating provisions for others demonstrates our sincere thanksgiving for God’s gracious outpouring upon us. To all of the pastors and laity of the Texas Annual Conference I praise God for you. In the Holy Bible, it is written in Exodus 35:21 that “everyone whose heart was stirred, and everyone whose spirit was willing… brought it as a freewill offering to the Lord.” I cannot commend you enough for the volumes of ways ministry happens in our communities and beyond. A portion meant for others
(apportionments) is just the first covenant. This is only a portion of all the good we do in this world.
The year of 2011 recorded some of the worst downturns in decades. But the Texas Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church gave millions in service to God’s creation. I want you to know that it is visible and evident that your hearts are bursting with thankfulness. I pray daily that we all will remain steadfast and immovable servants of God.
