AARP Services Inc. recognizes United Methodist Layman for Volunteer Work

AARP Services Inc., a for-profit subsidiary of AARP that oversees providers and the products offered to its members, recognizes David A. Brooks for his 50+ hours of volunteer service in the community. Community involvement is an important part of the AARP organization’s mission and David’s life. He has contributed to the betterment of much of Houston and beyond by serving as the Central South District Coordinator for Disaster Response/Relief through The Texas Annual Conference of The United Methodist Church. In this capacity, he has provided training opportunities in disaster response, led response/relief efforts, and has participated as a member of the Texas Annual Conference Committee on Relief, a leadership group overseeing disaster response/reliefs efforts for United Methodists encompassing all of East Texas.


The committee also helps coordinate disaster relief teams going to other areas of Texas and throughout the USA. “I am honored to be recognized by AARP and ASI for the hours of community service I performed,” said David. “And I look forward to continuing to volunteer.” Brooks holds a Masters in Health Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and has spent the past 20 years involved in healthcare delivery and health insurance. For the past five years he has owned and operated his own Insurance Agency focusing on Health, Life, Disability, and Long Term Care Insurance products.
