UMCOR Webcast on Human Trafficking

Date Posted: 3/24/2011

You are invited to participate in a live webcast on human trafficking hosted by United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) and United Methodist Women's Division (UMW).

Human trafficking is the second largest and fastest growing criminal industry in the world. More than 12 million people around the world are coerced, kidnapped, and forced into prostitution or bonded labor. Fifty-six percent are women; two million are children.

It will take place Monday, March 28, 2011 from 12 noon - 1:00 p.m (EST)

Learn about UMCOR Armenia's Anti-Human Trafficking Project, and UMW's Intercept Human Trafficking campaign, which are both working to stop traffickers from exploiting women and young girls.

Presenters: Kathryn Paik, UMCOR Armenia program officer; Susie Johnson, executive secretary for Public Policy, UMW; Carol Van Gorp, executive secretary, International Ministries, UMW
