Missional Sewing Project - Special Fabric

Date Posted: 3/3/2011

Do you sew?  Are you looking for a mission project? Do you want to be part of a team getting ready for annual conference? There is a project for you!

The Texas Conference received a large amount of fabric last April from our Methodist friends in Cote d’Ivoire. This fabric was designed especially for the Texas Annual Conference and was to be sold to help raise money to support the Cote d’Ivoire Adopt a Student program. Though some of the fabric was sold last year at conference and is still being sold through our website, we have a LOT of fabric left. We need your help!

On Wednesday, March 9, there will be a meeting at the conference office, 5215 Main Street, Houston, 77002) for all persons who are willing to help sew items that can be sold at this annual conference. We will decide that day what projects might be mass produced by sewing ministries or made by individuals. If you live outside of the Houston area and want to participate, let us know.

We will also need people to help at the fabric sales table in the display area if you plan to be in attendance and have an hour or so you could commit to serve. We will supply each church/individual the fabric needed to make items which can then be returned to us prior to or at annual conference. Please contact Shirley Broome at 713-521-9383 or sbroome@txcumc.org  to add your name to the list of participants or for more details.
