Powerful Biblical Truth for Tough Questions

The Perkins School of Theology is excited to present Bishop Scott Jones and his son, Rev. Arthur Jones in the Houston Lay School this February 17, 2018. Father and son will present a dynamic one day program in which they will equip lay-leaders to address the toughest questions of faith through the power of Biblical truth. Lunch will be provided for the event, and participants will receive a gift with their attendance.

.

“It is a pretty unique opportunity to have a bishop devote a day to laity in a setting where they will be able to ask questions,” said Priscilla Pope-Levison, Perkins School of Theology Associate Dean for External Programs.

.

Two Saturdays each year, The Houston Lay School offers laity, who otherwise might not have the time or finances to go to seminary, the opportunity to participate in quality educational offerings led by Perkins instructors. Pope-Levison believes the Houston Lay School is a wonderful experience for these valued leaders in the Texas Conference. “I love it because it allows those who love the church and learning to go deeper than they could in Sunday School,” she said.

.

Pope-Levison encourages lay leaders to also mark their calendars for the second Houston Lay School of 2018, which will take place in August. An additional longer session, The Perkins Theological School, will take place March 22-24 on the Perkins campus in Dallas. This three-day program will offer Participants the opportunity to choose three courses from an offering of seven.

.

Since a large crowd is expected for the February 17th event with Bishop Jones and Rev. Jones, Pope-Levison encourages attendees to secure their spot early through on-line registration.
