September 20, 2018, the Core Leadership Team approved the 2018-2024 Strategic Road Map for We Love All God’s Children.

.

An Important Step

The Texas Annual Conference took an important step forward in fulfilling the “We Love All God’s Children” initiative with the recent approval of the We Love All God’s Children Strategic Roadmap. The six-year plan thoughtfully sets a course to engage churches throughout the Texas Annual Conference in ministry to young children in the areas of discipleship, literacy and health.

.

The plan is firmly rooted in both the mission of the United Methodist Church and the We Love All God’s Children initiative. Goals are clearly-stated along with practical steps and resources to reach them along with concrete strategies to measure success.

.

Clear Vision, Mission, and Goals

We Love All God’s Children Director, the Rev. Jill Daniel, is eager to provide churches throughout the conference with a wealth of resources to empower them to reach children for Christ. She sees the establishment of the Strategic Roadmap as an invaluable tool in fulfilling the Texas Conference’s initiative.

 .

“While the Bishop has eloquently, passionately, and consistently articulated his vision for We Love All God’s Children,” Daniel said, “having our vision, mission, and goals succinctly stated for folks in the Texas Annual Conference will help us truly focus on next steps, or first steps, in reaching children ages birth through 11 years in the areas of discipleship, early literacy, and health.”

.

The We Love All God’s Children Strategic Roadmap seeks to help churches throughout the conference fulfill the initiative by achieving the following four goals:

.

1.Engage all churches in serving young children in the churches’ mission fields.

.

2.Equip clergy and laity to minister with young children and their families- in their churches’ unique contexts- in meaningful, sustainable and Christ-centered ways.

.

3.Empower local churches to create innovative, holistic We Love All God’s Children’s best practices.

.

4.Evaluate church participation in the three focus areas of We Love All God’s Children.

.

.

According to the Strategic Roadmap, early administrative groundwork is scheduled for completion by the end of the year, setting the stage for the churches in the Texas Annual Conference to hit the ground running in support of the initiative in early 2019.

The Strategic Roadmap for We Love All God’s Children will be available on the Conference website in October 2018.
