Rev. Richard Bauman
Richard is a retired Deacon in the United Methodist Church now living in Sealy, Texas west of Houston and Katy. I served St. Peter’s United Methodist Church in Katy for 22 years in the area of Christian Education. I enjoy model trains (although I have yet to build a layout currently), gardening and lawn care, working with NOMADS to rebuild or repair homes, churches, campgrounds as needed in our RV. Jigsaw puzzles occupy many hours as do the over 300 movies in my collection. I have three grown children with four grandchildren whom I try to keep in touch with via Zoom or Facetime. Life is good!
While at St. Peter’s, the pastors let me lead the confirmation class for sixth graders which evolved into Covenant Club, a nine-month program. As the leader with parental help, we familiarized the youth with the old and new testaments, the church year, an annual retreat to write our creed to be used on confirmation Sunday, and other activities to help them decide to follow Jesus and if they wanted, to join the church with knowledge about our faith.
