Holy Cow: East Texas Church Pays Bills with Herd of Holy Cows

As a small congregation, Kirbyville UMC does not always have the available funding for needed repairs, Pastor Judy Kelfstrom explained. Church members found an unusual solution. They decided to pay the bills with beef from a herd of holy cows.

Worship: it is our Business

Each year, clergy and lay members head to the UMC’s Texas Annual Conference for worship, fellowship and business. There’s a lot of work to do – from ordaining clergy, and electing delegates to adopting programs, budgets and goals. Dr. Craig Gilbert explained that worship is a central component to completing the tasks at hand.

Fraud Prevention for Church Administrators & Church Staff

Fraud and the church: Fraud can happen to any organization, regardless of type, size, location, etc. The Center for Connectional Resources will be hosting a meeting discussing fraud prevention for church administrators Tuesday, May 28, 2019. This session will discuss fraud, prevention, and detection for the small nonprofit organization.

UMC Volunteers Respond to Houston Area Flooding

Texas Annual Conference volunteers assembled 400 flood buckets, hygiene & schools kits for delivery to Texas flood victims in the Kingwood area where over 400 homes flooded Wednesday, May 8.
