Q&A Get to Know Your Delegates

The 18 delegates elected for the Texas Annual Conference continue to plan for the General Conference in 2020, which will be held in Minneapolis in May. They gather monthly for a meeting to prepare for the big event.  Let’s meet a few of the delegates: Dr. Jeff McDonald, Dr. Laceye Warner, Jason Bass and Eddie Erwin.

Jewish Congregation and UMC Church Gather to Celebrate Passover

St. Peter’s UMC in Katy and Tree of Life Messianic Congregation are preparing their annual Seder Meal, celebrating Passover together for their third year in a row. Both congregations join to break matzah together, learn about the Jewish origins of Christianity and strengthen faith.

Explore Meaningful Theological Discussions at the Movies

Rev. Jim Reiter looks for Jesus everywhere, as founder of Zoe-Life Explorations, a ministry dedicated to spiritual formation. Reiter often discovers spirituality on the silver screen – and will share the deeper messages in the movies in an upcoming Lenten Film Festival at FUMC Somerville, just 90 miles northwest of Houston.

Statement Regarding the Shape of a New Traditional Wesleyan Denomination

A group of more than 25 diverse United Methodist Church (UMC) bishops, clergy, and laity, men and women, African-American, Asian, Caribbean, Caucasian, and Hispanic persons from every U.S. jurisdiction, and three central conferences, recently concluded a three-day gathering in Atlanta, Georgia, during which they explored ways to reach consensus about the shape of a new traditional denomination.
