Ten Steps to Host a Live Nativity

The Christmas story literally comes to life every year at Christ Church UMC in The Woodlands -- when actors and animals spring into action for the Live Nativity on Christmas eve. This will be the 23rd year for the production, and the fifth time Maggie Wood, director of student ministries, will help make it happen. Along the way, she has learned a few tips to assist other churches who are considering hosting their own Live Nativity.

Methodist BBQ Ministry Served 3,400 Meals to 2019 Disaster Victims

There’s a whole new type of ministry at Montgomery UMC – one focused on a barbecue pit. The MUMC Cookers is an outreach program, which serves meals to those in need in Conroe and also provides disaster relief throughout the state. Volunteers learn tips and tricks about barbecue, as they help others.

How to Have an Indoor Garden to Feed the Homeless

FUMC Beaumont is literally reaping the fruits of its labor. The church started its First Fruits Initiative in August and has already harvested this indoor garden space twice, going beyond the needs of its soup kitchen Kairos Kitchen. Plans for expanding the program are in the works. In addition to providing a healthy bounty, the gardens cultivate discipleship and community.
