Bishop Scott Jones’s Episcopal Address at this year’s Annual Conference was a call to action. He implored members to find hope – even when times seem hard. He challenged all to explore possibility in what may seem like despair, and he instructed everyone to remember their calling as disciples of Jesus Christ.

Ordinands Presented with a Special Gift from Laos

The stoles presented during ordination at the Annual Conference this year have an unusual origin. These red strips of fabric, decorated with a hand-stitched white dove traveled all the way to Houston from Laos, a country located between Cambodia, Vietnam, Thailand, China and Myanmar.

The Texas Annual Conference: A Future with Hope

There were over 3,400 delegates and guests that attended the 50th session of the 2019 Texas Annual Conference at the Hilton Americans in downtown Houston. Bishop Scott J. Jones preached an inspirational Episcopal Address, challenging everyone to “remember your baptism and be thankful” and to find hope, even when times seem hard.
