Southwest District is hosting a Lay Servant School.  More information on registration will be coming.

​PURPOSE OF LAY SERVANT MINISTRIES SCHOOL
To become better equipped to serve Jesus Christ, His church and community; to grow spiritually; and to become a Local Church Lay Servant or Certified UM Lay Servant.

LOCAL CHURCH LAY SERVANT
LCLS serve in their local churches. To become a LCLS you must be recommended by your pastor, Charge Conference, District Lay Servant Committee and the DS. You must complete the Basic Course for Lay Servants and report annually.

CERTIFIED LAY SERVANT
A CLS may serve in the Local Church, District and Conference however, you must continue to serve in your local congregation. A CLS must be recommended by their pastor and Charge Conference; complete the Basic course and one Advanced course; be approved by the Lay Servant Ministry Committee and the DS. To stay certified as a CLS, you must report annually and complete an Advanced Course every three years.
