Reconciling United Methodists presents "Moving Forward in Hope" with J.J. Warren
Please join in a time of community, inspiration, information, strategy/planning, and communion This event will be held at St. Mark's UMC, 600 Pecore Street, Houston 77009 on Saturday, September 28, 2019 from 9:30 am - 1:00 pm, with lunch is included.
There is no charge for this, but please register to help us plan for food and logistics. A love offering will be received.
Please arrive at St. Mark's (Pecore) between 9:30 & 10:00 am. We'll have coffee and light breakfast items available, and the program will begin at 10:00 am.
J.J. Warren will be the speaker and will be first on the agenda, following by a Q & R, followed by a quick update on legislation being submitted to General Conference 2020. Lunch will be around 11:30 am or so, with intentional table conversations that will be helpful to us all. We'll close with communion and dismiss about 1:00 pm.

Information about our speaker J.J. Warren:
J.J. is a seminary student at Boston University School of Theology, a graduate of New York's Sarah Lawrence College, and a certified candidate for ordination in The United Methodist Church. After making impassioned plea for the inclusion of LGBTQ+ persons at the UMC's top law-making assembly, J.J.'s speech went viral, and his advocacy has been covered by HuffPost, NBC, and WXXI Radio. His first book: Reclaiming Church: A Call to Action for Religious Rejects, will be available this February from Abingdon Press. J.J. now travels the world preaching a message of inclusion and forward progress. You can stay connected to his movement at jjwarren.org.
