Texas Annual Conference: Our Vision

Vibrant, growing congregations changing lives and reshaping futures for Jesus Christ.

Texas Annual Conference: Our Mission

Equip congregations to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world to the glory of God.

Center for Congregational Excellence: Our Purpose

is to connect and equip local congregations and new church start leaders with tools and resources for congregational revitalization, transformation and vitality in communities they serve. Two main priorities of the Center for Congregational Excellence are new church development and congregational transformation / revitalization.

Children’s Ministry Gathering

Persons responsible for Children’s Ministries in local churches are invited to join We Love All God’s Children Director Rev. Jill Daniel for an exciting time of fellowship, information, and sharing. We will meet at the United Methodist Children’s Center (former Bethany UMC campus) located at 3511 Linkwood Drive in Houston on Thursday, March 7th from 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Lunch will be provided.

Please RSVP to by Tuesday, March 5th.

Connectional VBS

Vacation Bible Schools are a great way to share the hope of Christ with children and families throughout the Texas Annual Conference. While many of our churches have access to seemingly limitless resources to bring the message to life, other churches struggle to access even the most basic supplies necessary for this ministry to those in their neighborhoods and communities. Since one of the goals of We Love All God’s Children is to equip local churches with needed resources for ministries such as Vacation Bible School, we are asking churches with the ability to share VBS resources at the close of the big week to list that availability so that churches with need might make use of your sets, CDs, decorations, craft supplies, etc. To be part of our Connectional VBS, please send your church name and contact information, date of your VBS, and which VBS you are using (To Mars and Beyond, Whoosh, Roar, etc.) to As this information is received, we will post the data to our website ( so that churches may contact one another to make arrangements for sharing. Still have VBS leftovers from years past? Feel free to share those resources as well!

Save the date for Spirit Journey Oct. 17-19, 2019

Spirit Journey is a 3-day (48 hour) retreat adapted from a model developed by The Upper Room and its “Academy of Spiritual Formation” program. Open to lay and clergy of all denominations, Spirit Journey’s Benedictine-styled rhythm of daily prayer, Eucharist, teaching, silence and community offers time to fill the deep spiritual hunger that characterizes many lives. Since its inception in 2004, Spirit Journey has blessed participants with its breadth and quality of presentations and the time for personal reflection, rest and renewal. The Upper Room co-sponsors Spirit Journey.

More details will be coming in March about this year’s Spirit Journey.
