Ashford United Methodist Church, a growing church in the West Houston area, is seeking a part-time Director of Worship and Music. This new opportunity is open to persons seeking to serve the Lord and a local church by designing and leading worship services that engage the congregation at a high level of participation, communicates the Gospel message through music, and can lead others by example.

Ashford United Methodist Church, a growing church in the West Houston area, is seeking a part-time Director of Worship and Music. This new opportunity is open to persons seeking to serve the Lord and a local church by designing and leading worship services that engage the congregation at a high level of participation, communicates the Gospel message through music, and can lead others by example.

Responsibilities include:
1. Work closely with the pastor to design and lead worship at
2 weekly Sunday morning services 2. Direct an all-volunteer adult choir (accompanist provided), including one weekly rehearsal
3. Prepare and lead a contemporary music team including one weekly rehearsal (proficient vocal ability and the ability to lead from guitar or piano required)
4. Direct a handbell choir including one weekly rehearsal

The successful candidate will:
1. Demonstrate proficiency in worship planning and worship leading.
2. Demonstrate proficiency in music selection, rehearsal planning and execution for all ensembles required for this position.
3. Demonstrate experience in administration and organization
4. Demonstrate proficiency in all presentational aspects of worship including sound, lights, Media Shout and/or Propresenter, and Planning Center are needed.
5. Have at least 3 years of prior music and worship experience in a church of 500 members or more.
