Full Time Director of Student Ministry, Marvin UMC

The Role: The Director of Student Ministry will lead students into deeper faith in Jesus, through fellowship and friendship, engaging programming for students, and discipleship. 

The Director of Student Ministry will: 
Lead and teach youth on Sunday mornings, and on Sunday and Wednesday nights.
Develop and implement retreats, mission experiences, activities, and other events to help youth grow in their relationship with Christ and in their sense of servant discipleship and mission. 
Recruit, train, direct, and provide structure and support of volunteer youth leaders.
Work with other staff to integrate students into the life of the church.
Work with and provide leadership to the Youth Council.
Continue to develop and oversee college small groups and their leaders. 

What you bring: 

Education & Experience:
The ideal candidate will have five years of ministry experience. While prior experience as a Student Pastor is helpful, other similar work experiences could include college campus pastor, church planting, and more. 
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in a related field, such as Bible or Religion from a Bible college. A seminary degree is a bonus. The ideal candidate does not have to come from the Methodist context but they must embrace traditionalist Methodist theology.
