About the Director of Children's Ministry: 
The Director of Children’s Ministry will focus on making Christian disciples of children and will be an advocate for children concerned with their safety and physical, emotional, and spiritual growth. 

The Director of Children's Ministry will: 
Develop and administer the Children's Ministry budget, as approved by the Children's Ministry team. Prepare budget projections and maintain fiscal responsibility

Administrative responsibilities:
Oversee the maintenance of all data pertaining to the children of MUMC.
Evaluate curriculum and resource for theology, doctrine, and age appropriateness.
Recruit, train, support, and encourage Sunday school teachers.
Recruit and hire nursery workers.
Provide adequate resources for Sunday school teachers.
Provide training for other programs as necessary.
Research and develop new programs for the Children's Ministry.
Suggest and implement new programming possibilities for involving children in ministry and worship.
Determine the value and effectiveness of current programming and make recommendations to the Children's and Women's Ministries teams.
Maintain knowledge of current trends in Children's and Women's Ministries and stays informed regarding current resources, programming ideas, curriculum, and literature.
Supervise the maintenance and operation of the resource room and is responsible for the purchase of supplies.
Evaluate the children's facility to ensure quality care and safety.
Keep the congregation informed of events and programming in both areas through regular Messenger articles.
Serve on various assigned church committees, making presentations when necessary to the administrative board and Children's Ministry team.
Participate in the worship services as needed.
Participate in church-wide events.

What you bring: 
Education & Experience:
The ideal candidate will have four to five years of ministry leadership experience in a church of 500 members or more. While prior past Children’s Pastor experience is not required, it is a great bonus. 
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in a related field, such as Bible or Religion from a Bible college. A seminary degree is a bonus. The ideal candidate does not have to come from the Methodist context but they must embrace Traditionalist Methodist Theology.
