Social Principles Implementation Ministries Video with Bren Hardt
The Social Principles Implementation Ministries (SPIM) team is delighted to offer a ministry of missional excellence to teams of the District Churches. Guided by our Church’s social principles, we help local churches:
· Know and live out the church’s social principles
· Serve as a prophetic witness to the world
· Embrace Christ’s witness of mercy and compassion for all persons
Empowered to serve as a prophetic voice for the church, SPIM is prepared to give presentations to leadership events that you may already have on the district’s calendar. We are looking forward to being part of a special event, focusing on ministries of justice and the other social principles of the United Methodist Church that have moved society forward in maturity, radical hospitality and risk-taking ministries throughout the history of the church.
SPIM plans to present conference-wide training this year designed to include core beliefs, and meet the goals set forth by the Texas Annual Conference. Please contact a member of SPIM to host a training event in your church. (See attached Flyer “Speakers Bureau” for contact names and topics).
Another area of SPIM involvement is setting forth the 2007 Resolutions that will come before annual conference. As directed by last year’s conference proceedings, SPIM has been asked to review and provide assistance to local churches, district ministries, conference agencies and committees submitting resolutions related to social principles. Let us provide assistance for your district in the Resolution process (See attachment for “Exploring Proposed Resolutions”). We look forward to meeting with your congregations in our new spirit-led efforts of fruitfulness.
