Peace With Justice Program (PwJ)
Purpose: To make shalom visible and active in people's lives and communities and to strengthen the church's capacity to act as a public policy advocate. There are many exciting ways to build peace. Please contact us soon to see how we can help you enhance your Christian witness.

Elaine Kimzey (281) 657-7936 Peace with Justice Video with Elaine Kimzey The Peace with Justice Program (PwJ) in the Texas Annual Conference provides resources and presentations for local, district and conference-wide events. These programs are designed to help participants enrich their understanding of the nature of peace and peacemaking, using Jesus as the model.
They often provide opportunities to practice skills for respectful dialogue and compassionate communication.
The transformative workshop, Building Beloved Community, continues to be offered as well. Check out the Social Principles Implementation Ministry (SPIM) web-section for more programs. PwJ is a part of SPIM.
Churches are encouraged to take the Peace with Justice Offering the first Sunday after Pentecost or on another Sunday during the year. Litanies and prayers suitable for Peace with Justice Sunday are available from the PwJ program. Free posters and offering envelopes can be ordered from the here. Grant Funds Help You Bring Shalom to Your Community A new PwJ Grant form has been developed. If you and your congregation have a project in mind and need a few dollars to launch or continue it, download the document and check it out! The project goals should focus on peace building, reduction of violence, reconciliation, reduction of poverty, global health, and/or the care of God's creation and contain a focus on making changes to the root, structure, or political framework that would create more justice and fairness. Grant applications are due April 1 and October 1.
