Publicity Strategy Tips
Churches planning events for the community might want to get ideas from First UMC Palestine. “The idea for this retreat came out of the newly created Family Ministries team resulting in the church taking part in the Vibrant Church Initiative,” notes Kris. “We really just wanted to be the hands and feet of God and Put Christ First in Palestine. So, over the past year we have prayed, researched, and planned this event and we are looking forward to being able to share this experience with our community in January as well as some follow up events we have planned like a Valentine’s dinner and child care service for the evening and a couples Bible study over the War Room beginning in March for those interested to share the hope that comes from the love of Christ with those couples who need it in the area.”
To bridge to the community, event planners reached out to local business through the chamber of commerce as well as through the district office and FB page. Additionally, the information is in the local newspaper, church FB page, website, and local radio station via a live visit during a local talk spot. The church also sent out the information to the families that attend the pre-school and equipped members with the attached material so that they might invite others they know.
