Lakeview to Offer Father-Son Retreat "Man Camp" in October

Date Posted: 8/4/2016

Man Camp, a father and son retreat, scheduled for Oct. 28-30, 2016 at Lakeview Methodist Conference Center, is a program that allows ample time for father and sons to connect in meaningful ways. Man Camp is designed with several hands-on activities that foster personal and spiritual growth and encourages new challenges for all ages.

The adventurous weekend will be filled with fun and challenging activities such as zip-lining, trapshooting, climbing, fishing, boating, tomahawk throwing, survival skills and much more.  The retreat includes all activities, programs, meals and accommodations.

"Man Camp is about growing connections between men and boys in their lives,” stated Bradley Doherty, Program and Ministry Director for Lakeview.  “It is intentionally designed to help men strengthen relationships with their campers and encourage them in what it looks like to be a man of God.  Man Camp gives dads, uncles, grandfathers and their youngsters the opportunity to enjoy a three day, jam-packed, unforgettable weekend at Lakeview.  Campers will create lasting memories and have the experience for a lifetime."

Registration for Man Camp will open up on Sept. 1, 2016.  The cost of the retreat is $150 per camper. If two or more family members attend, the cost is $100 for each additional individual.

"Our mission at Lakeview reaches well beyond what we do in the summer, said Doherty.  “We hope to make a meaningful impact on our campers and their families throughout the entire year."
