Houston Lay School of Theology Feb. 11

Date Posted: 1/11/2017

Join Dr. O. Wesley (Wes) Allen, Jr. for Houston Lay School of Theology February 11 sponsored by Perkins School of Theology as he leads class participants through an examination of the first gospel in the New Testament — the Gospel of Matthew — using the lens of its eschatology, that is, its theology of the end of times and the return of Christ. Modern readers often miss how strong an apocalyptic worldview this gospel offers.

Participants not only will discover how much the Gospel of Matthew emphasizes eschatology, but they also will uncover clues for a non-literal way to understand eschatology in the 21st century.

Registration fee includes day-long course as well as lunch. For more information, call Mary Roberts at 214-768-2390.
