South District Local Church Leadership Training

The South District is pleased to offer two separate training events for laity in January 2015. Both events are at Friendswood UMC (located at 110 N Friendswood Dr. in Friendswood) and registration for both events is on-line. On-line registration closes on January 8th. Details follow below:
 

  1. FREE event – 2015 Local Church Leadership Training from 9 am to Noon on January 24, 2015
Purpose – launching leaders in the Local Church to Go Forth & Serve in areas of their calling (youth, children, missions, prayer, etc.) and as they serve on administrative committees

  1.       $25 registration fee for the Academy for Lay Leadership Initiative (a 2-day training) January 24 & 31st
A senior pastor recommendation is required to participate in this training
Purpose – to develop laity in one of five specific callings (evangelism, missions, leadership, teaching or congregational care) to serve their local church and have a more fruitful ministry in transforming lives and communities.
** In addition, participates will be required to complete an on-line course in UM Basic Foundation Class covering UM History, Doctrine & Polity. The cost is $9.99 for this course.
