Card Campaign Creates Buckets of Love
Much like the conference wide food drive in 2012, the 2013 gift card collection campaign was a huge success at this year’s annual conference. Over 1600 cards have been collected to date with an estimated value of about $18,000, and more are coming in.
The cards will be shared among the three human trafficking organizations that sent representatives to annual conference and who visited with many of our members at their display table. “These cards will be an easily transportable blessing as we share them with targeted ministries across the conference to help families get meals, clothing and basic needs filled,” says Reverend Diane McGehee, Center Director for Missional Excellence.
“Many conference attendees witnessed the creative ministry to the homeless at the The Bread of Life/Art Project exhibit table. The donated gift cards will help hundreds of recipients touched by this ministry in the months ahead.” Adds Diane, “We look forward to hearing from our districts where they want their portion of gift cards to be shared.”
