New Church Starts: Living Stones Church, Katy

Planting a church is harder than it sounds, but one of the most rewarding experiences of ministry, according to Rev. Scott Rawlings who is helping to launch Living Stones Church: St. Peter’s West Campus this month. Watch the video clip to learn more about this exciting focus within TAC’s Center for Congregational Excellence.

On Sunday, September 7, St. Peter’s UMC, Katy launched a west campus presence called Living Stones Church. The church started at an elementary school in West Katy with a few preview services this summer, quickly outgrowing that space and moving to a high school for more space for children’s ministry. Shares Rev. Scott Rawlings, “Despite the changes and some of the hiccups along the way,  I am not sure there is anything more exciting, more encouraging, and more God-honoring, than having members of Living Stones excited about this church plant and bringing new people to our services.

Launching a new church plant is a lot of hard work and it takes some great organizational skills, but at the end of the day, our main focus is constantly present in the question: Have I done all that I can to connect West Katy to God’s love?  Seeing the excitement and smiles on the people’s faces when they walk through the doors of Cinco Ranch HS where we meet, I would say that God is pleased with the progress so far!” Watch the video below for more insight from Pastor Scott:
