DeSobe named Krist Samaritan Center President and Chief Executive Officer

Rev. Gerald DeSobe, Ph.D., LPC has been named president and chief executive officer for Krist Samaritan Center, a Houston-based, not-for-profit, faith-based organization that provides affordable counseling services, psychological testing, psychiatric consultation and educational programs to people of all economic backgrounds. In addition to seeing clients for therapy, Dr. DeSobe will also oversee the operation of the organization, manage financial and physical resources and implement various business development strategies.

 

He previously served as the Center’s executive director. Dr. DeSobe is considered an expert in the fields of integration of religion and psychology and clergy mental health, thanks to his experience as a licensed psychologist, ministerial assessment specialist, diplomat and past president of both the American Association of Pastoral Counselors and Samaritan Institute Advisory Board.

in the greater Houston area, and I hope to continue carrying out its mission of touching lives and healing hearts.” Dr. DeSobe is a graduate from Duke University and holds both a Master of Divinity degree from Yale University Divinity School and a doctorate in Pastoral Psychology and Counseling from Northwestern University.
