Wesley Community Center Annual Spirit of Helping Luncheon Nov. 3

9/20/2011

Wesley Community Center will honor “The Pillars of Wesley Community Center” at its annual Spirit of Helping luncheon on November 3, at noon.

The annual luncheon, which will be held at The Junior League of Houston, is a primary fund raising event for Wesley Community Center and is vital to the support of its ongoing programs.

In 2010, Wesley served 21,332 unduplicated individuals from 110 Houston area zip codes. Requests for assistance in 2011 remain at record levels as many families and individuals continue to struggle with unemployment or underemployment.

Wesley Community Center “Spirit of Helping” annual fund raising luncheon honoring The Pillars of Wesley includes the community volunteers from CenterPoint Energy and Cameron; Laura Millikan (St. Paul’s United Methodist Church), Robert M. Reed (First United Methodist Church, Conroe), Thomas R. Wussow (First United Methodist Church, Kingwood), Stephen G. Tipps (St. Luke’s United Methodist Church); Mrs. Ruth G. Palmer, Executive Director Emeritus (First United Methodist Church, Houston), and The United Methodist Women.
