Youth Interested in Conference Youth Council

3/22/2011

Each Spring, the Conference Youth Council (CYC) has a meeting in which 6 at-large youth members are elected to the CYC. Elected at-large members serve alongside the other district representatives who serve on the CYC. On Friday-Saturday, April 1-2, the Conference Youth Council (CYC), is having an open house and at-large member election at First UMC Lufkin, Youth & Worship Center (http://lufkinfirst.com).

Any youth who are in grades 6-11 and interested in participating on the CYC are welcome to come for the whole Friday overnight and Saturday program, or alternatively, may choose to just attend the business meeting that will take place at noon on Saturday, when the elections will take place. If your youth cannot attend the meeting but would like to run for elections, ask them to e-mail a letter of intent to Rev. Dan Conway by Tuesday March 29.

If you are sending youth to the Friday overnight program, conference safe sanctuary trained and background checked adult supervision is required. Please RSVP to dconway@txcumc.org no later than Tuesday March 29th to sign up your youth and adults for the Friday night overnight program. Questions?? Email Dan or call him at 713-521-9383.
