What is The United Methodist Church doing related to health? Peruse this vast array of resources that connect you to vital health and development work around the globe. These resources will educate, inspire and encourage you to advocate for those ailing in the mind, body, soul or spirit, and provide the information you need to spark your own in-house promotions or fundraising efforts. 

·         SPSARV provides educational resources to raise awareness and to equip church leaders to effectively respond to dependency and related violence.

·         Sharing Imagine No Malaria notecards, posters and brochures helps put faith into action to end preventable deaths by malaria in Africa, especially among women and children.

·         Congregational Health resources offered through UMCOR and the General Board of Pension and Health Benefits help your learn the concept of health, healing and wholeness. Learn also about the caring and compassionate work of Parish Nurses who volunteer in congregations in the United States.

·         UMCOR Global Health programs work internationally with more than 300 United Methodist hospitals and clinics. They use education as well as preventative and curative measures to confront major health issues, such as malnutrition, maternal and child mortalityHIV and AIDS and malaria. UMCOR programs also seek to increase access to clean water and better sanitation.

2013 World Malaria Day video:

·         Malaria claims a life in the world every 60 seconds. The United Methodist Church responds with the distribution on insecticide-treated bed nets, and the training of more than 5,400 community health workers.


HIV and AIDS Video Series

·         “A Look at HIV and AIDS,” a series of videos created by Global Ministries in observance of the annual World AIDS Day, offers a variety of perspectives on AIDS-related stigma.


Healthcare on the Amazon

·         UMCOR works to provide community-based primary health care for river communities along the Amazon River, where volunteer medical teams travelling on the John Wesley Hospital Boat bring much needed medical relief.
