Children Bring Change

First Friends Day School staff recently spoke to the children enrolled in their weekday ministry about the devastating tornado in Oklahoma. “We asked the children to go home and do chores around the house to help collect change to bring back to school to send our neighbors in need,” noted Director Penney Buckert.

The children took home plastic baggies and returned with change and stories of how they earned the money. “We wanted the children to understand they are the hands and feet of Christ and that we are all called to love and help our neighbors even if we don’t know who they are.” Throughout the week, children continued to bring change. They ended up bringing in $300.00, which was donated to families in Oklahoma who lost their homes.

Missional Excellence Director Diane McGehee wanted to extend our heartfelt appreciation and say “Thank you for being the hands and feet of Jesus to the children and families in need in Oklahoma and an inspiration to us all.”
